Community Connection of Northeast Georgia
The mission of Community Connection of Northeast Georgia is to nurture, develop and maintain information and systems which empower individuals and communities to access needed resources and services. It maintains a telephone information and referral service to help individuals and organizations locate resources including food, clothing, child care, shelter, housing, health care and more. Community Connection also maintains the volunteer center, Hands On Northeast Georgia, to help connect individuals with volunteer opportunities throughout the year.

It is a full-service image creation, cultivation and communications firm. Athens-Clarke County
The Athens-Clarke County Government continues to be a great supporter of community service. Without its presence, many small details pertaining to the homeless, the uneducated and the less-fortunate would go unnoticed. Mayor Heidi Davison declared September as Volunteer Month, and encouraged Athens residents to get involved in a nonprofit organization. Thank you, Mayor Davison!
Clarke County School District
With 20 schools under its jurisdiction, the Athens-Clarke County School District has its hands full educating our county’s children. Over 12,000 students are enrolled in the schools. One of the goals of the ACC School District is to prepare its students to be productive members of society. That’s why 400 Clarke Central High School students are coming to the Expo to learn the importance of volunteering and making a dedication to community service. We are proud to say we are helping develop the next generation of volunteers.

Junior League of Athens
The JLA is an organization of women committed to promoting community volunteering, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. The Junior League of Athens is dedicated to empowering children and to guiding their journey into a productive life using the diverse talents of passionate, trained volunteers. We are happy to have them support the Volunteer Service Expo, as this directly relates to the Junior League’s mission.
